Vacancy Summary

PRINCIPAL TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Design and stressing of simple rig fixtures.
* Conduct calibrations of test equipment (load cells, displacement transducers, pressure transducers etc).
* Commission test rig and control equipment (single and multi-channel digital and analogue servo hydraulic control, manual hydraulic pressure regulator control, air pressure regulator control etc).
* Creation of test plans and test schedules in line with test requirements.
* Conduct static and fatigue strength and endurance tests on metallic and composite aircraft components.
* Analysis of test results and report writing.
* Liaise with rig manufacturers to ensure rig/specimen assembly and configuration meets test requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS / KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES:

* Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent in relevant subject (e.g. Mechanical Engineering etc).
* A background and experience in servo hydraulic control is highly desirable.
* Experience in instrumentation (load cells, strain gauges, displacement transducers etc) and data acquisition techniques are highly desirable.
* IT literate with necessary PC skills (MS Word, MS Excel etc) is desirable.
